The New York Law Journal published an article written by Friedman Kaplan counsel Bonnie M. Baker describing the significance of the recent U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York decision in Parker v. Alexander. On January 22, Judge Lewis A. Kaplan determined that New York’s Adult Survivors Act and Child Victims Act largely preempt New York City’s law reviving time-barred sexual assault claims through its amendment to the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law.
