Friedman Kaplan Earns Midsize Mansfield Certification Plus
Friedman Kaplan is proud to announce that the firm has earned the Mansfield Certification Plus designation through Diversity Lab’s 2022-2023 Midsize Mansfield Rule certification program. Mansfield’s accreditation process seeks to ensure equal opportunity and access to leadership roles. The focus is on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities for advancement are inclusive for everyone. Named for the first woman admitted to practice law in the United States, Mansfield takes a behavioral science approach that embeds accountability, transparency, and knowledge sharing into talent practices.
Modeled off of Diversity Lab’s original program, the midsize version of the certification process is tailored to firms with fewer than 150 lawyers and leaner leadership structures. Outcomes are measured annually with certification requirements evolving each year to accelerate progress. The “Plus” designation indicates that the firm has not only taken steps to increase inclusivity in leadership, but also has made measured progress in doing so. Only about half of Mansfield certified firms achieved the “Plus” designation this year.
“Diversity, equity, and inclusion are extremely important to the continued success of our firm and our ability to provide world-class service to our clients. Participating in the rigorous Mansfield certification process holds us accountable to our commitment to our lawyers, business professionals, clients, and the profession more generally. By tracking progress and collaborating with other committed firms and corporate legal departments, we all raise the standard for the future of the legal profession. We are gratified to reach this milestone, and continue to actively strive for consistent and sustained progress,” said Management Committee member Mala Ahuja Harker.
