Friedman Kaplan Earns Mansfield Certification Plus for the Second Consecutive Year
Friedman Kaplan is pleased to announce that it has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus for 2023–24. Mansfield is a year-long, structured certification process through Diversity Lab that the firm has committed to since 2022. Named for the first woman admitted to practice law in the United States, Mansfield’s accreditation process takes a behavioral science approach that embeds accountability, transparency, and knowledge sharing into talent practices, with the focus on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities for advancement are transparent and inclusive. Outcomes are measured annually with certification requirements evolving each year to accelerate progress.
To achieve the “Plus” designation, Friedman Kaplan provided data to Diversity Lab about the firm’s progress and outcomes in its efforts to broaden talent pools and increase the visibility of its advancement processes. This transparency allows the firm and Diversity Lab to celebrate progress and to identify areas with continued opportunities for improvement.
“We are proud of Friedman Kaplan’s efforts to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion within our firm and the broader profession, and we recognize that there is still much work to be done. The firm’s participation in Mansfield Certification is an important step in that it holds us accountable to our commitment while helping us objectively measure progress and providing regular opportunities to collaborate with other committed firms and corporate legal departments,” said Management Committee member Mala Ahuja Harker.
