Office of the Appellate Defender's 23rd Annual Mock Supreme Court Argument & Gala Cocktail Reception

On October 5, Hallie Levin participated in the Office of the Appellate Defender's 23rd Annual First Monday in October Mock Supreme Court Argument & Gala as a Justice of the Mock Supreme Court. The Court considered a hypothetical case based on the recent Apple/FBI litigation over whether the government can compel Apple to unlock iPhones seized pursuant to valid search warrants, but which are securely password-protected. The Hon. Jonathan Lippman of Latham & Watkins acted as Chief Justice.

At the event, Lewis Liman of Cleary Gottlieb and David Zornow of Skadden served as oral advocates and received the Gould Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy, and Audrey Strauss of Alcoa, Inc. received the OAD Counsel for Justice Award.
